The #1 Step In Building An Online Business or Course (it's not what you think)

Yesterday, Marci and I had our first mini workshop about the first step in becoming an online entrepreneur or building your online course. BELIEF.

I deeply believe (now more than ever) that every business has an online version of that business living in the VORTEX...waiting to be downloaded.

Yep...that's right!

COVID19 era has shown us not only our vulnerabilities but also our resourcefulness and is stepping us into our strengths more than ever.

I've seen all kinds of new online business pop up out of "no-where" AKA the VORTEX...and it makes me smile because being resourceful is the combination and use of our natural God-given gift...our WILL-POWER.

The problem is...you can't succeed or even get started unless you have the conerstone covered...THE BELIEF THAT YOU CAN DO IT.

The Universe often gives us that moment of..."I have this sweet idea...".

But sadly we we often let our inner SABOTEUR archetype win the battle and we end up killing the idea or simply telling ourselves things like:

  • I don’t know if this is gonna work
  • I’m too tired
  • -I’m too old
  • I’m too young
  • I’ve never done it before…
  • What if I fail….(Oh but what if you succeed...)
  • What if I succeed and my husband doesn't like me anymore
  • What if I don’t have a ton of money to get started?
  • How long is it gonna be before I make money?
  • Can I do it?
  • What if I’m not good
  • What if people laugh at me

SO, we stay in idea mode or "almost launching" mode and keep ourselves busy with our LOGO, MOTTO, WEBSITE.

But the truth is, we just don't believe in ourselves enough.

You must believe.

If you believe you can succeed you will!

Mistaken Mindsets:

Because someone else is doing it, ….there’s no space for me…

Reframe:"BECAUSE someone else is doing it YOU CAN TOO!!"

Don’t let feelings like jealousy or insecurity keep you from leaning into your own gifts!!  There is space for everyone.  Look at the fast food industry.  McDonalds was the first but then came Wendy's, Burger King, Subway, Taco Bell. There is room for us all.

In fact I usually tell my clients as part of our work together, that they have to find 10 other people in the market doing what they do.  This guarantees that there IS a viable market for them!

If you find yourself feeling jealousy do this:

  1. Identify that you feel it. Acknowledge it without judging it.
  2. Make a list of what being jealous keeps you from doing?
  3. Make a list of two gifts JEALOUSY has given you (yep..you read right).

Imagine JEALOUSY standing right in front of you in the form of a being.

Then use the HOPONOPONO mantras:

I’m sorry

Please forgive me

I love you

Thank you

Speak to it and tell it that you can no longer let it keep it’s claws in you because you have a mission to complete. Then say again....

I’m sorry

Please forgive me

I love you

Thank you

Whoever you felt jealousy towards say…

I’m sorry

Please forgive me

I love you

Thank you

How do we create more belief?

  1. Create small wins and build on them!!
  2. Remind yourself: Everyone started somewhere.  No one comes out of the womb with amazing fully fleshed-out ideas. Part of this process is learning how to test things.
  3. Remind yourself that if others can do it...so can you!

It's so much easier to build BELIEF when we catch ourselves NOT having it. Becoming aware and making a conscious choice to face our doubt is the way to get started on the right track.

Here's a simple process you can use to nip it in the bud:

Acknowledge the fear/doubt.

Example: I am afraid that I started this before I’m ready. I don’t know anything about technology, and I don’t even know if it's a good business idea!

I will crush that fear by (example):

Example:  Reminding myself that everyone started somewhere. No one comes out of the womb with amazing perfectly fleshed out ideas. Part of this process is learning how to test things, and I know thousands of people who aren’t super techy. If they can do it, so can I.

Build belief & certainty by making a list of 30 accomplishments in your life (big or small):

Create & finish this sentence:

I am capable of succeeding because ( list your accomplishments individually).

Example: I am capable of succeeding because I graduated in the top of my class

I am capable of succeeding because I popped two kids out of my body

I am capable of succeeding because I am great with working with people

This is fun.

You will end up with 30 sentences and I want you to notice how your vibe will go from mhhhheeeee...... to YESSS.....

Commit to catching yourself: When and if I am stuck, I will...

Commit to redirecting your doubt: Every time I feel a doubt or insecurity, I will remember that...

You have a gift and if you stand in your power long enough you can do what thousands of other people are doing!

xoxo,
