How To Heal Your Fears of Being Visible on Your Personal Page

If you find yourself thinking “I want to do videos and posts, I want to be visible and spread my message, but I don’t want to do it on my personal profile” then you need to work on healing your visibility fears. 

It’s so important to work on visibility blocks because if you want to create more impact with your market through masterminds or being a speaker, you have to be visible. 

The only people who don’t need to be visible are those who want to continue doing one-on-one work. But you don’t have to do that exhausting work. You can reach more people and work from anywhere in the world. If you learn how to do it correctly, you can really make a lot of money. 

Being visible isn’t something you should feel is optional. How will you make a sale if people don’t know you’re there?

 

One of the reasons a lot of us have visibility blocks is because we know so much. For some of us, our block is that we’re always learning instead of earning. We have so much knowledge and it’s just not organized, so you’re not sure what to talk about.

 

Everything you should be putting out into social media should have a purpose and an endgame. If you don’t have that plan in place then of course you’re going to feel discouraged and anxious. Really, the only thing you have to get over is yourself. You have to reinvent the new you. There are some people who are naturals at putting themselves out there, but that’s definitely not the majority. 

You have to remember that you were born to step on the stage and change the world. In modern times, that stage got bigger and smarter and that stage is now social media.  You can be the very best at what you do, but if you don’t have a system to market yourself and get clients through the door then you’re just going to be the best-kept secret and doing this as a hobby. If you want to be a six-figure earner you have to get over your discomfort with being visible.

 

7 Steps to Heal Your Visibility Fears

Step One: Identify the problem

Example: I’m really terrified of doing videos and being judged

 First, you need to identify the problem and give it a name. When we identify the problem, we can learn how to get power over it. If we don’t identify it and allow it to stay in the background then you’re allowing it to subconsciously drive your actions. 

 

Ask yourself “What type of influencer do I want to be in the world?” and “What kind of person am I really like inside?

 

Step Two: Identify the feeling you want to un-memorize 

Example: feeling afraid, terrified, anxious, overwhelmed, frustrated (start with one)

Choose a feeling that you really struggle with daily when putting your content out there. It’s that feeling or fear that you have when you think about having to post something out there for people you know to see. Identify what that emotion is that you want to un-memorize.

Step Three: Answer what that emotion keeps you from doing when trying to market or be visible

How does that emotion hold you back? Does it keep you from showing up? 

Example: “overwhelmed” keeps me from organizing what I’m going to say so I put it off instead because it’s too hard

“Overwhelmed” keeps me from doing videos so I just post “quotes from other people”

Be specific. Think of it this way: for every hundred people that see you, let’s say one person sets a discovery call. If you do a video every single day so that you can reach more people, think of how many more discovery calls you can book and how many clients you can gain. How much is this emotion allowing you to leave on the table?

 

Step Four: Observe how the emotion feels in your body

Close your eyes and truly allow yourself to feel that emotion then write it down.

One of the biggest problems is that we go through life trying to not feel things like anxiety or insecurity. But when we resist something, it persists. Let yourself just take a deep breath and feel it for as long as you can so you can truly experience and recognize it.  Where in your body do you feel it most. First thought is your best thought. 

 

Step Five:  How do I think when I feel this way?

What happens to you when you experience this feeling in your body? Are you thinking accurately? Are you jealous or judgemental? What is your state of being?

Example: when I feel overwhelmed I start thinking ________________ and I freeze and procrastinate.

(What we’re doing is getting specific and bringing forward things that we experience unconsciously)

Step Six: Declare it to God and surrender it

 Now that you’re clear on it, it’s time to declare it to God and surrender it.  Purge and declare how you feel, who you are, and present your truth to the universe.  The truth is you FEEL, and it keeps your from_____ and what you really want is ________but you need help.  Build the relationship with the Universe.

 

Step Seven: Create the new version you want to become 

The last step is to create a whole new you. This is a whole new idea of who you want to become instead. Ask yourself who you admire and who you want to model. Let those people pave that path for you and ask yourself what they would say or do if in your situation?

The more you can rehearse being this new identity and letting go of your old identity, the faster you will get there.  Then the universe has no option to match who you’re BECOMING.
